What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Tsavo National Parks charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Indicative 2026 rates gathered in July 2026 from operators' own rate cards and the official KWS tariffs. Watch the pricing basis: most Tsavo camps quote per person per night sharing, while Serena, the KWS guest houses and the self-catering bandas quote per room or per unit, so two sets of numbers are not directly comparable. KWS conservation fees are extra almost everywhere at $80 per adult per park per day, plus KSh 600 for a car under six seats.

Is Finch Hattons good for families?
Yes. Finch Hattons' own site describes a full family programme: a Young Explorers Club for children six and over, with bush walks, treasure hunts and game drives, plus two-bedroom Family Suites where kids under 12 share with parents. It does not offer babysitting, so adult supervision is still on you, especially at the unfenced camp and pool.
How much does it cost to stay at Finch Hattons?

Can you self-drive to Finch Hattons?
Yes. Finch Hattons is about 232 km from Nairobi, four to six hours by road through Mtito Andei Gate on the Mombasa highway. Most guests fly instead: Safarilink's daily flight from Nairobi Wilson lands at the camp's own airstrip in about fifty minutes.
What is there to do at Finch Hattons?
Twice-daily game drives, a night drive, walks through ancient cloud forest, the Shetani lava flow, and a visit to the Maasai community of Iltilal, the nearest village to camp. Between outings there is the spa, with its own infinity pool, hammam, yoga deck and gym, and hippos to watch from your deck.
